I've got much more "dangerous chemicals" than those! LOL. Isopropyl Alcohol a dangerous chemical? It's called RUBBING ALCOHOL. Most women keep that dangerous chemical, acetone, in their bathroom, it's called Fingernail Polish Remover.

And those scary looking dangerous chemicals that could have used to make explosives? (probably scary because they are black) Charcoal is a component of gunpowder...

That is pretty obscene that he was convicted. Making a bomb is stupid. Knowing how to, isn't a crime in my opinion. He needed a better lawyer. The world is really upside down crazy now. He did seem to be a little over the edge, but having raw materials not made into anything? The judge was a lot over the edge here.

hell it was his story that got him prison time,not what he had,,,,his reasoning was just to bazaar ,,,,,I work with a guy right now that I am just waiting for them to come haul him off to the loony bin ,,,,,I wouldn't trust him with a sling shot

You have to understand that in the UK all these prohibitions have absolutely NOTHING to do with fighting crime or terrorism and everything to do with the state and establishment protecting itself. Using current UK interpretation of the law approx 90% of UK citizens would be found guilty of terrorism.

crossbows and knives in your own home aren't strictly illegal in the UK, its when you take them out in public that is, in your own home you could simply be a collector of sorts.

I agree, the UN PC attitude against Muslims played into it some. He did sound like a nutter, but I still say he hadn't committed a crime, yet. It's worrisom that they are convicting him on the possibility that he would mix things together sometime in the future. And four years in prison, are you kidding? Maybe some psyche visits, but prison?!!!

under current UK prison rules he will be out in 2 years possibly less depending on how long he was on remand before sentencing.
I agree, he was sentenced for something he MIGHT do in future, something he hasn't done yet, sounds a bit "thought police"..1984.

At least he is concerned enough to actually prepare for something and not just wait on his local police and government. If you had to wait around for this elect that we currently have. . had to wait 8years for him to actually get out! Guess my stockroom, bath & laundry room are just expositions waiting to happen.

At home in the UK if you have any stuff like Anti Freeze (Ethyl Glycol) , Plant Fertiliser ( Amonium Nitrate based) Nail Varnish remover (Acetone), Hair Dye ( hydrogen peroxide) Bleach (Sodium Hypo) Metholated Spirits , Paint Thinners, paint brush cleaner or even a Calor gas bottle then folks according to the judgement above you are a potential terrorist.

probably! sounds to me like its the early stages of total control of the population, I suppose it wont be long before we aren't allowed to collect rainwater for the garden- like its illegal in some states already.

This spring I'll be buying fertilizer by the ton, installing bulk fuel tanks (gas and diesel), replacing my 500 gal propane tank with a 1,000 gal tank. It sounds like in the UK that would put me on some terrorist list. Where I live it's just normal things that ranchers do.

Thats the very point and proves the UKs insanity, None of these bans have ANYTHING to do with fighting crime or terrorism. In the UK you can drive past THOUSANDS of farms and see one ton tote bags of Amonium Nitrate just stacked in fields, and you can get diesel anywhere, OR but as many large gas bottles as you like. But they go after a guy for keeping a point of gun powder YET You can buy and store as many boxes or large fireworks as you like.
