Weird, when I lived in the Middle East, all I saw were folks speeding, and lanes on roads were mere suggestions.... I guess Dubai is different in that respect.

I taught a friend from Syria to drive. He said they had one traffic rule: "Whoever's bumper is in front had the right of way." (in other words whoever got there first had the right of way)

The above sounds much more accurate, lol. Just riding to school each day was an adventure. I can't even recall how many accidents I'd see on a given day. (and as long as the vehicles still worked, they'd usually just both leave).

In Saudi, the most common two vehicles....white Mercedes Benzes, and white Toyota pickups (usually with a camel or two in the back). They were the only ones driving slow. (I mean, no trailer, nothing, they were just lying in the back...like ALL the time)... Weirdest thing.
