A coin collector question

Cleaning up some odds and ends from a bureau drawers the other day, found a coin that looks like an old dime. Front side: A female head, with collar-length hair, wearing a small cap, United States of America, 1867. Other side: what looks like a wreath , with the Roman numeral III inside. No other number, Roman or otherwise.

What is this thing?

I was wrong, it isn’t a Mercury dime. They weren’t made until 1916

I have a bunch of those, but really haven't paid attention to what they were. Just skinning the old coins for sale, seems they are finally climbing in price.

You can go to the Public Library ( that a Government funded building for books) get a copy of "Coin of the World".
Or buy one for about $80.00.

Problem is although they will identify what you have, it doesn't provide current prices.
