Each year, emergencies and natural disasters test our readiness and challenge our resolve. While my Administration is working tirelessly to avert national tragedies, every American shares a responsibility to be prepared. By planning for severe weather and other emergencies, you can protect yourself and your family and contribute to your community's preparedness.

On the National Day of Action, I challenge all Americans to learn more about the hazards that could threaten your community-from tornadoes and wildfires to floods and hurricanes. Develop a family plan and practice it to make sure you and your loved ones know the best ways to react to an emergency. Get involved with your community's emergency preparedness and help others do the same by sharing your story of how you planned ahead.

When our Nation faces crisis, we respond with unmatched determination and resilience. Let us honor the strength our people show in times of adversity by preparing ourselves, our neighbors, our schools, and our workplaces before disaster strikes.

One of the reasons they planted the vegetable gardens was to promote awareness for being prepared, as well as the health benefits. i know most people don't like Obama, but he's not all bad.

Of course he wants us to take care of ourselves. . . he is trying to take care of all the illegals. Sorry, but I feel like the ones who actually take his advise to be prepared & gov knows about it in a real SHTF situation, those are the ones the gov is actually going to target first and steal what they got to hand over to others. . . it's already in the laws, has been for years now.

wish I would have someone in my gov that would say something like this, someone....

I despise that anti-Christ. In that message, he pointed the obvious. When a disaster comes, Obama won't do anything for the community. Obama is a horrible leader, he freed 4x the prisoners then any other leader. The prisoners he freed were mainly drug smugglers. Aside from that, he should be impeached and thrown in prison for breaking the constitution.

I'm more excited for election day then my own birthday!

Obama is a horrible leader, trust me. The only reason why he got elected was because he was the first black man, therefore all the blacks voted for him. Now since all he has done for America, even the blacks that voted for him are regretting it!

yup, like we had here our first woman president, it was a novelty that soon faded away...she was more interested in refugees and so called immigrants and minorities than the average finnish working man/woman...
