Wow, have a read.

This may sound bizarre, but I'm 100% for this! Liberals want to stop police brutality. Yup, it'll do that.

But it also means "might is right". Those with the biggest guns (and know how to use them and are willing) win. Those aren't liberals. Those aren't the cartel. That is your average conservative citizen.

It would be a crazy time. There would be lots of killing. But liberals will be the biggest losers, by a huge margin. Anyone know a SO (sex offender) they'd want to take out? Some unchanged felons? Drug dealers? Just make sure you will win the gun battle.

Somebody seems to have forgotten the movie "The Purge" and that event was just for one day a year. This world is getting stranger by the day. The term "locked and Loaded" should be a clue to these idiots.

TBH if they abolished the Police in the UK I don't think we'd notice out here in the sticks, most rural police stations are closed and police do not foot patrol any more, they react to a crime not stop crime happening. and very little crime is solved anyway.
they'd notice in the cities but since there is so much crime/stabbings in London would anyone notice any different??

We usually don't have "Police" out in the sticks, they generally only have jurisdiction in cities. Although there is a trend for the cities to extend police jurisdiction a certain number of miles outside the city limits. "Sheriffs," who are usually elected by the citizens of the county, have jurisdiction outside the cities in most places. They are the only law out in the sticks. If their departments don't live up to expectations by the citizens, then they lose the election next time around.

As far as "abolishing the police" goes, if we abolished the police here there would be no lack of law enforcement. We have a consolidated city/county government with a Police Department, City Marshal's Office, and County Sheriff's Office, all with overlapping jurisdictions.

My son got a traffic ticket from a Marshal's deputy inside the city limits, so the Marshal's Office apparently has the same jurisdiction as the Police Department.

I'm ok with this. They're not needed where I live anyway and I don't care about places like NY, Chicago, LA or Baltimore.

Might need to hire Snake Plissken to go in and rescue people occasionally, LOL

For those of you in the younger generation who might miss the reference...

I'm talking about the cult classic Escape from New York starring Kurt Russel who has to go into a cordoned off, lawless Manhattan Island to rescue the President who has been kidnapped by the crime boss of Manhattan.

Apparently the Liberals are incapable of asking themselves what's NEXT after the police are disbanded.

Seattle doesn't let their police do much anyway. I would love to see the complete mayhem if they abolished all of their police force. The Libs would all hold hands and sing "Kumbaya" while looters carried away their big screen TVs and appliances in front of them. Wealthy white liberals are the most naive people on the planet. Living a sheltered life will do that to you.

The Libs haven't a clue the mayhem that would follow the abolishment of the police forces.

Pipe dream, nobody is going to ban the source of revenue.

A side note

The US Marshal's generally deputize local law enforcement officer to give the locals Federal arrest powers, that local deputized officer still retains his local responsibility until the Marshal's service is needed.

Talking about a City Marshal's Deputy (read the preceding paragraph of my post). Actually since we have a consolidated city/county government they are a County Marshal's Office, but really mostly operate like a City Marshal's Office. It's been a big bone of contention here because the Marshal's office pays better than the Police Department or the Sheriff's Department, and think of themselves as more "Elite" than police and sheriff's deputies. Their main purpose is as officers of the court - serving warrants and subpoenas, providing court security, etc. Not really sure why they need squad cars with radar.

So they are not really Federal Marshal's?

driving while using a handheld mobile phone is illegal over here but they cant "police" it so whats the point in making it illegal?

I read an article that showed a company is making cameras that will photograph drivers, and they will get a ticket in the mail if it shows them holding their phone while driving.

haven't seen anything like that here, we just seem to have the old speed camera's here, due to budget cuts many of the boxes don't have a camera in them, no speed camera's on country roads you have to get onto the main highways before you start seeing them.

I don't think we should completely abolish the police. But certainly drastic reductions would be a good idea. And then we should stop putting so many laws on the books that need enforcing.
Citizens should be empowered to take care of themselves. "Will get shot by the potential victim and or his/her friends and family" would be a much better deterrent than "might get caught be the police some day" for preventing things that should truly be illegal (like stealing, assault, murder, etc.).
Of course if one of these things still happens that's where the cops could come in, but crime would be a lot more rare.
