someone sent this to me--they are reading glasse that you can adjust the power. this could be a rel help as we get older and things get crappy and cant get or afford new glasses. not expensive. theres a couple brands, these are the ones im gonna try. a 2 pack is about $18. ive gone thru soooo many glasses over the years, and magnifiers. cant function without magnifiers, i can see these being handy.

I can see where these would be very useful for some folks. Not for me personally, I get my glasses from the VA, progressive lenses at no cost.

I will add that prices for complex glasses have come down in recent years with advancements in materials, according to friends anyway. I do know that eye tests have changed a lot in the last decade, even at the VA. They sent me to a civilian doctor last year. That eye exam was almost like a scifi movie.

I don't think I would trust the customer reviews. Amazon's web page said these were "First available" on "Aug 13, 2024". And then a review on Aug 14th (one day after they first became available):

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, secure, and long-lasting

Whenever I need to give gifts during holidays or at any time, I buy these glasses. Everyone likes them and they are a great gift

I wonder what holidays fall between Aug 13th and Aug 14th?

I wish I could use inexpensive drug store reader glasses. But I have astigmatism as well as being near sighted - and that puts the non-prescription ones on the "don't work" list for me. I have to pay hundreds of dollars for a pair of glasses. :(

I'm still adjusting to what I do or don't need glasses for after cataract surgery.. I have been experimenting with 1.5 to 2.5 power reading ..cheater.. glasses when needed.. They are saying after Lasik treatment my vision will be significantly improved again.. Looking forward to that.. Cheater... Magnifying lenses are 4 for $5 at the pharmacy in the grocery store..
Anyone with experience with this ??

i understand your point. but what i was sent was a different ad review for this brand, it sold for $59. i thought that was nuts so looked on amazon. same brand for less. so i thought id try it out. ive got special magnifier lighted glasses, ive got a brand where i can change the lens, and all sorts of different strengths from the good old days of 1.5 readers up to 4.5-5.0 + special magnifiers .
i think it would be neat to have a pair that i can adjust higher or lower depending on what i need them for. right now to be able to look at my kindle reader and pick a book to listen to i need my 4.5 glasses plus 5x magnifier. heck if i could do that with one thing im gonna give it a try. they could be a great help or they could be crap. but ill try them out

That would indeed be handy. I find that I now need different glasses (but don't have them all) for distance, piano, desktop computer, and laptop computer. My main glasses are progressives so I have some adjustability there by tilting my head different amounts. But that's a pain in the neck - literally.

My VA glasses are basically progressive readers. The upper area for distance is just glass. I use them when I drive so I can see the instrument cluster or the road. At home my computer screen is less than 3ft away, slightly to my right, the tv is straight ahead. Most of the time I wear my va glasses when sitting in my chair, so I can see my computer and tv at the same time.

I didn't like the readers I bought at wally's. I have to put them on to see my computer or instrument cluster, take them off to see anything else. So I bought 'half lens' readers from amerzit. They are great, meet all my requirements, especially when driving. Don't have to tilt my head, just look straight or downwards. I ended up buying a pair for every room in the house because I kept misplacing the first pair. 🤣 Oh, and one pair for my truck!

When all is said and done, I'm thinking half glasses like Peanut posted may be a good option.. Maybe to ware all the time ?? Will look into that.. Otherwise I also keep one or more pairs of $1.25 magnifiers in each room of the house.. Most are 1.5 to 2.25 power.. At 2.75 or 3.0 power they are harder to use..

I have 20/200 and 20/300 or so uncrorrected vision corrected with trifocals so i can see. I have several pairs of the adjustable glasses and they do work. I also ordered some cheaper ones and they were junk...So try some if you need to see. If they don.t work try another brand....all of mine were cheap. one brand that works for me is "Adens Adjustables". I also have a prizim correction but if neccessary I just block one eye...
Having worn glasses since third grade I have various extra pairs but these adjustable ones give clearer vision than 20 year old scratched ones..
The nice part is I can stash a pair various different places. And one consideration would be after the coming war what if you had a trained doctor show up at your farm but his glases were lost or broken? Having a pair of these adjustables would probably save lives..

While I have 3 strengths of 3 pack readers in my preps, taking a pic with phone or IPad is underrated Optics on other things help me for distance
