Hi all

My Nick here is Celatkon. Am new in this preppers stuff, but with all the negativ information given by the News I am more and more looking for what to do, to store and to have in case of emergency need (when a war starts or worse). A friend of mine already is a prepper, willing to help but wants me first to prove I am serious in becomming a prepper. I have no clue at/of which forum he is member from, but this forum felt good for me to sign up.
I am a woman, married and having 2 childrens, living in Europe The Netherlands.
Have no clue what to tell more without breaking the first rule (according my friend) of becomming a prepper, tell no one who you really are, where you live and most of all tell no one you are a prepper, except those you really trust.

Welcome from Fin,just take baby steps, think what you can already do,learn new things, that will benefit your family and you.

Welcome from Tennessee . If you have a flashlight , battery operated radio , candles , a well stocked food pantry , cold weather clothing then You are already prepping.

Warm Welcome from the Arizona valley folks. :USA:

I would suggest prepping for whatever scenario you think will happen in your area. Remember water, food, and shelter are the basics of survival. 1 gallon water per person per day. This is for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth. Invest in a life straw that will filter dirty water into drinkable. Keep a well stocked pantry. I like to keep staple items like rice, beans, flour, sugar, etc since these have a long shelf life. Then you also want to have various fruits, veggies and meats. I mainly have home canned and dehydrated items from the garden but have also started storing freeze dried items. Start with just keeping three days worth for each person in your family and build from there. I am comfortable with storing a years worth but I am constantly putting up during the year since our weather permits growing a garden year round. As for shelter, if you can stay in your home, that is best. If you have to leave, do you have somewhere else to go? Family? Friends? Cabin in the woods? and if no,t do you at least have a tent with camping supplies? Dont think you have to do it all at once. Just every time you go to the store, just pick up an item here and there. Yard sales are great and cheap places to find camping equipment and so are swap meets.

Howdy from a Texan .... and welcome to the forum and family...there's quite a few knowledgeable folks here that'll gladly tell ya what you need to know,or at least point ya in the right direction and/or give ya a good idea or 2..and by all means jump right on in with any replies you have on a topic.

Welcome. I hope your spouse has the same attitude about prepping as you do. It will help a lot. There are several women preppers/homesteader types on here. Everyone that participates is good about giving advice if you need it. AND your friend is correct to say that you want to keep your preps quiet, for one people will take advantage of you if a need arises and for another they might think you are insane. My knowledge of the Netherlands is limited. We do have folks in other countries here besides the US. Funny how a lot of people around the world are getting the same vibes.

You are a good one.
