An interesting flavor combo that sounds gross, BUT....

Look behind you in that dark corner.
2 pieces of sourdough bread or whole wheat.
One large glop of natural peanut butter. (not the stuff that's half corn syrup!)
One slice of American or mild cheddar cheese.
Grill in natural butter.

I don't know why, but its good!

Never done that, but Peanut butter goes well with cheese crackers, so I don't see why it wouldn't be good...

Peanut butter is sweet and savory. Some of these combos sound weird, but I can see it, because peanut butter is kind of a "bridge food," to coin a term.

I always liked peanut butter on bread, with tomato juice. Take a bite; take a drink.

I used to buy tomato jam for my PBJs. Haven't done that in a while.

My cousin spreads peanut butter on one piece of bread and puts sliced onions on, then the other piece of bread.

My mom used to do that. I love onions, but I don't think like that! I do love peanut butter and dill pickles on toast!

I love raw onions as well, but I just cannot even think of a pb and onion sandwich. Maybe tomatoes and onions. I love onions on burgers! I also love dill pickles, but again, pb and pickles? Not sure about that.

I do have friends who eat pb and banana sandwiches and one who eats pb and marshmallow creme sandwiches.

I have made a decent sandwich out of French toast, Baloney and mayo.
Just like a baloney and egg biscuit.

I like ketchup on my French toast as well. :p

Fried bologna and an egg on French toast would sound pretty good. Not sure about the mayo but I'd be willing to give it a shot. But you can keep the ketchup!

Ok this is a recipe from my grand father. During the depression peanut butter was a sub for protein and was very cheap. Here is the recipe

1 c. peanut butter
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped onion
enough bread crumbs to hold it together

Make patties fry in a skillet eat like you would a hamburger

Now I know this sounds nasty but its really good. Dont knock it before you try it.

My ex husband use to put peanut butter on fried egg sandwiches

A guy I knew in the navy used to eat grilled cheese with peanut butter on one side. (think he was from Maine). I thought he was nuts when he offered.

Anyway, I've seen him eat 3 of them after a night out at the bar. It wasn't to bad, good after drinking all evening good, when you need to eat. I ate one a couple of different times, didn't kill me. Funny, it's never occurred to me to make one since.

I had a roommate once who ate pineapple slices with mayo on white bread. It was his hangover cure, a big slice of juicy pineapple. I ate one occasionally, not bad.
