Another school shooting, nobody cares...

A couple of days ago a high school kid in NM went in & killed a couple of classmates, injured another maybe dozen. Shooter is dead.

But did anyone notice that it made the news for about 20 seconds that day with ZERO follow-ups? What was wrong with the kid? Where did he get the gun? Was he on mind-altering drugs, or illegal drugs?

Well, I have my answers. Nobody cares. It's more important to talk about Al Franken grabbing girls' butts than the failure of our schools.

Shooter was not a student nor a kid . He was middle age and had been investigated before after posting that He wanted to do a mass shooting .
He dressed like a High School kid and walked in and shot randomly .

So how can we turn these shootings and stabbings into something positive, have we discussed preventative measures and changes to our kids school days to reduce the risk of becoming victims ? for example in London where school stabbings appear to be very common many parents are now buying their kids slash and stab resistant clothing. I read about one wealthier US city (cant remember if it was Boston or NYC) where sales of bullet proof school bags, satchels rucks etc were popular. Apart from being horified I doubt there is much we can say or do to reduce such incidents but I guess we could try and make own own kids that bit safer.

Where I live we dont have much of a knife problem and no noticable gun problems but many young thugs do carry and use craft knives, stanly knives and use em way to often. So i bought my son some knife proof gloves and put a 1.5 mm piece of sheet Aluminium inside his messenger bag that he could use to fend off a knife attack.

you know I saw and read the story on that and there was a couple and yes the media usually will milk one for close to a week, they don't care about the victim's in these shooting,just the headline and the ratings,,,,but anyone with kids worry about this now,it is a major concern for the welfare of the children,,,,,,,,,,short of putting metal detectors at every entrance in every school and cops on school grounds all day long while children are present,and a complete lock down of the school after hours,,,,you tell me how can this be prevented

Two things that prevent crimes like these are the People that know the offender intervene or Someone at the scene of the crime stop them by force . Yes the protective measures are good like a get out plan and protective back pack .

Fame/notoriety is a primary factor. They all knew they were going to die before hand.

If people would stop obsessing over these shootings the media would stop covering them on such a massive scale. There would then be less motivation for these lowlifes to try to turn their miserable lives into a movie.

I didn't read the story as I don't believe in contributing to or glorifying these types of incidents. They usually all have similar narratives.

I agree that it would be great if the media stopped giving the nut-jobs all the attention. This is just the first time they've actually done that. However I suspect the reason isn't that they are stopping this for moral reasons, rather I believe they don't want to take away attention from all the anti-Trump/anti-Moore news. Even to the point where they gave LOTS of fake-news in their efforts to hurt Trump/Moore just this week.

Regarding this shooter, does anyone have info about his past? My first question is was he 'diagnosed' ADHD/ADD, and what mind-altering drugs was he on for years? What type of household was he raised in? Was he antifa? Far-left leaning? My reasons for asking is that nearly every one of these young mass-shooting nutjobs took Ritalin for years, does he fit the profile?

All the initial reports said the shooter was a student. And I don't just rely on TV news, there are a few conservative new sites (like drudge) that I read daily. My point was that not one of them had further news updates. You had a few moments everywhere that first day then nothing else on mainstream TV/websites.

So that was the facts of my post: there have not been more news widely covered. Sure, you can find things if you hunt them out (I neither confirmed no denied that).
