I dont know if mine is military issued, all i remember is my dad using it in the fishhouse 25 years ago. Still works great hundreds of cans later!

Mine have US stamped on them. I think I still have 5 or 6of them, but they’re from the early 80s.

I have new ones, but they don’t seem quite so well made.

I have several p-38 can openers, as I tend to rely on a lot of canned food in my prepping stuff.

Canned food is cheap, it lasts a very long time (even in hot, tropical south florida), and cleaned metal cans are useful for storage containers and raw material for knife blades, scrapers, and arrowheads.

Yeah .matter of fact.i have both type.one type without the spoon.and the other with the spoon.and a bottle opener on it.as well as the p-38
