My mother in law lives alone in another state. She has been sick, not likely covid luckily, for a few days. She hasn’t been well enough to drive to the store or anywhere else. So tonight I called the local Publix grocery and asked if they had any options for delivery. They told me about instacart. It took me about a minute to set up an account and shop for a few items from the local store there. Stuff like Tylenol, her favorite soups, Gatorade, saltines, cookies etc. The delivery was free for my first order, awesome, but I don’t know what the regular fees would be. Living far away from her is concerning, but thanks to the modern connectivity of the world I was able to help her out some at least. For someone that had to be dragged kicking and screaming to computers I am now loving the positive effects they have on our lives!

I use instacart when I'm lazy sometimes. I did when I was sick once too. The delivery fee where I live isn't too bad, maybe a little more than getting a pizza delivered.
I live rural so I can’t get a pizza or even a newspaper delivered. Being in a more populated area has some advantages. When amazon started delivery on almost anything I was hooked at the onset. Wish I could get more services here, even my internet is only 7, but I wouldn’t trade the location for anything. For me to drive to the nearest Walmart costs two gallons of gas and an hour, so a pizza delivery fee would be cheaper.
