Anyone who has in the past or still has I pads, I Phones etc have probably as some time accidentally destroyed the USB charging cables, Ear phone cables etc when they get bent near the connectors. I've seen more and more folks protect their cables from damaged by using shrink wrap cable covering to protect the cable in the vulnerable area near the cable as seen in this image LINK
