In all my 63 years I have never hear anything so barbaric, inhuman and uncivilised as what has happened to a couple of Brits I know who recently visited that uncivilised third world, ungodly den of evil that is Baltimore.

They stayed in an unnamed hotel in that Godless town , when they came down for breakfast the staff told these two Englishmen that........................ shudder with revultion, their full English breakfast did not come with Fried Bread or Black Pudding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dear god in what vision of HELL on Earth was before them !!!!

No country that calls itself civilised could ever produce a full English WITHOUT Fried Bread or Black Pudding.

The Devil truly walks in Baltimore.
 
Yeah, well don't even get me started on the "American Restaurants" I've been to overseas.

Most breakfast places here do have fried bread, but it's of the "French" variety coated with egg. But things made of blood? No way Jose.

Only an American could bring ANYTHING French into a discussion about an English breakfast :)
 
I suppose you have to spend a bit of time in the North of England to understand, most southern places don't serve black pudding and you have to ask for fried bread otherwise you get toast!!
 
Why do people always pick on grits, I like grits, like cornbread I can eat it in the morning for breakfast by just adding milk for the grits add honey or sugar but I love fried bread with butter or dipped in battered eggs then fried I also like blood pudding and hard to get in the states unfortunately. Besides I like Thai pork blood rice :)
 
The difference between grits and polenta is that grits is made from ground hominy and polenta is made from plain ground corn. (also the difference between real tortilla chips and corn chips)

Look at the ingredients to find out whether it's actually grits or simply polenta masquerading as grits.

Polenta grits have become so common, that nowadays you have to buy grits labeled "hominy grits" in order to get real grits. And it is increasingly hard to find. Real (hominy) grits are creamier and taste different than polenta (corn) grits.

Even in the South most people have never eaten real grits.

The stuff on shelf here are made from ground hominy, wife said ground yellow corn is the original grits and grind it even further to make corn meal, now we argued for 10 minutes lol never the less if it ain't from hominy it ain't grits! I'll take grits over malt o-meal anyday!

Grits came from the Indians. They never suffered pellagra (niacin deficiency disease) because they always soaked corn in lye (hominy) which changed the niacin into a form that could be used by the body.
This is from the Wikipedia page on pellagra:
The native New World cultivators who first domesticated corn (maize) prepared it by nixtamalization, in which the grain is treated with a solution of alkali such as lime. Nixtamalization makes the niacin nutritionally available and prevents pellagra. When maize was cultivated worldwide, and eaten as a staple without nixtamalization, pellagra became common.​
 
I've never considered an "English breakfast" fit to eat. Boring and tasteless.

I tried to find some Heinz Beanz here, but the packaging is different for those produced for domestic sale and I'm not sure the ingredients are the same. The ones sold here are labeled "Heinz Beans with Tomato Sauce". Comparing the ingredient list is difficult due to the difference in labeling regulations.

Plus, the ones sold here are outrageously expensive.

The US version of HEINZ beans has more salt and sugar than the UK version.
