I have tried all kinds of flour for baking everything from pie crust [ no water just vodka in place of ] to pastry and biscuits.
Well so far King Authur beats them all hands down. It is not organic but is NON GMO.
It has no metalic after taste like ALL other brands I've used. You do have to sift it to get out lumps but that is easy. Plus we always sift all our flour anyway. We buy plain and self rising.

So thought I'd share this with y'all.

Thank you for sharing Meerkat, and your vodka idea sounds interesting ;)

King Arthur has always done me well.
I've bought it organic at Wally World... but some items, whether organic or not, don't really matter to me. :)

We stopped using water in our pie crust recipe years ago. Replaced with same amount of vodka makes nice flakey pie crust.

Tried replacing water with vinegar, but didn't see a difference.

I'm going to try replacing using water with vodka and see how it works. It's such a a good tip, thanks.
