In a cabin, on a mountain, in "Wilderness" Alaska.
So, requesting the very-very basic needs for biscuits.
After the minimal for basic biscuits......what are some add on for enhanced "Wow". (Like grated cheddar cheese.

2 cups self rising flour
1 tblsp sugar
1 1/2 cups heavy cream

Mix flour and sugar. Pour in cream and fold together until soft dough forms. Knead gently 6 or 7 times with just enough flour to keep your hands from sticking. Form your biscuits and bake at 500 for 10-12 minutes. makes nice soft biscuits.

That is the easiest recipe I have, I have another that uses lard.

A much sweeter version:

Simple butter biscuits (you might call them cookies here..no idea I call them biscuits)

1 1/2 cups flour..all purpose or self raising I've used both
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter

Cream the butter and sugar (basically mix it until it looks creamy maybe 5 or 10 mins)
Add the flour and knead into a soft dough.
Form into biscuit shapes and bake at 150 for 10 minutes or until the edges start to brown.

Serve straight or with grated cheese or a drop of strawberry jam.

Edit to add that I have added grated cheese and paprika to the dough and baked like that. Don't ask me the amounts..I 'eyeballed it' lol

A few more ingredients but they are good!
Preheat oven to 375*
2 c flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 Tbl baking powder
6 Tbl lard
1 c milk or buttermilk
1-1/4 tsp salt
Mix. Roll or drop on greased sheet. Increase heat to 450* & bake 10-12 min.

PS: I don't typically share my recipes unless they are just from a magazine or something meaning someone else's recipe.

I don't have an oven, so I just slow bake on stovetop in frying pan.
