Curious if anyone found any deals today. I ended up buying some furniture that was discounted almost 40%. I actually meant to pu a new multi tool, which has more to do with prepping, but got busy and never made it to the local Lowe’s store to get it. Hopefully they will still have it tomorrow and it will still be on sale. Mine broke a couple days ago.

I didn't even venture off the property today. . . just glad to be home a full day for once. With work and going to grand
babies, moms, I was just happy and content to be at home for a change. I cleaned house BIG time since on days I have worked I am going 90 to nothing and when I get off I am lucky cook dinner, throw on a load of laundry and sweep the floor. Tomorrow hunny wants to tag team with the shrubs around here. . . he do the cutting and me picking up and taking to the goats.

Went nowhere and spent nothing. Enjoyed left overs from yesterday. Life is good.
I laughed at this. It reminded me of my ex wife that would go shopping and then tell me how much she saved! The only way to save is to not spend in the first place. Now, if you needed something anyways then it’s worth trying to find it on sale. I really didn’t see a lot of stuff on great sales yesterday. Most of the cheap stuff was just that, cheap stuff that you don’t need. This weekend is a decent time to buy furniture though. And if you dig through stores and online you can find some decent stuff. I got my multi tool at amazon for 10.00. When it arrives in a couple days I’ll see if the quality was worth it.

Black Friday,,,,you know they can sell things cheap at this time of year and still make a profit,,,why can't they do it all the time,,,,

there is to much mark up at most stores,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and they are always squawking about BUY LOCAL,,,screw that I buy where I get the best price and 99.9% of the time that is on the internet

I need to hang on to as much of my money as I can,,,I don't have money to piss away

I do like to buy local when possible. But like you said, only w hen it makes sense for my pockets too. I compared on line vs local furniture and the better deal this time was with a small local shop. The guy that owns it is the only employee, running the shop and delivering it all himself. I was able to see the furniture up close, get free next day delivery, and was able to get the whole bedroom set and a dining room set for the same price as just the bedroom that was on line. I looked at three other chain furniture stores and they were more expensive and their stuff was mostly pressboard. I call it disposable furniture. If I’m paying for something it better be real wood at least. One thing I like to do is eat at mom and pop restaurants. Fast food isn’t really cheap anymore. It usually does cost a couple bucks more than fast food but tends to be better food. I’m just sick of burgers and fries I guess.

Nope. I picked my wife up at the airport yesterday. It was a 10 hour round trip due to the weather. When we got home much of our road had drifted over and we got stuck. This time of year we carry snow shovels in every vehicle. It was so much fun.
The wife's birthday is on Monday. She wants to go out to eat at a nice restaurant. Which means another 300 mile round trip.

:)
The nice thing about being old (besides still being alive) is that I already have most everything I need. Still a few big ticket item (wants - they almost all go bang) but for the most part, I have everything. Life is good.

I don't know about having everything I want,,,,,,,,,,I am still looking for a 5'3" Blonde haired and blue eyed hottie that wants me for my body,,,,,,,,,,,she has been very elusive and I am running out of time:)

Grayghost. I had that exactly that model. Cost me a small fortune. Current model is a little taller, gray hair and is a winner. Careful on that hunt.

I don't go anywhere during the busy shopping seasons, in fact I don't think I go much of anywhere throughout the year except the back country, I would say what I can't get locally I will order online primarily Midway, Brownells and Amazon, we do make a Cabela's and Leathermans trip once a year over in Oregon.

I’m pretty content as well. Smart enough to know things don’t make you happy too. Seriously though, there is nothing I need and I don’t go to bed hungry. Can’t ask for much more in life.

I did go out for Black Friday sales for the first time ever. We needed (or at least wanted) another TV (for Granddaughter for her to watch her kids shows) and since that seems to be the main item sold on Black Friday, I figured why not. When wifey called me crazy, I explained, it is nothing I really need but if I score one, good, it not, then I could have a good time watching the fights.

Shucks, I was almost disappointed when I got there and they had an orderly line. I got my TV and headed home in < 30 minutes. No fights or name calling. Seems people were out for a good time and score some bargains. The media may be lying to us on this story also.

Furniture was a good buy over the holiday, but like anything else, only if you were going to buy it anyways. I also got a really cheap round trip airfare for my wife to be able to visit our daughter in Salt Lake City. It was a great deal but is non refundable, changeable, etc. with her health it’s a gamble on when she can do things. I usually get insurance on these things, here’s hoping for the stars to line up.
