Picked the first batch of blackberries this year . We didnot get enough for a pie or cobbler so we will make dumplins . Simple and quick . Put berrys in a pan add enough watter to cover them add sugar to taste and a stick of butter . Have your dumplins rolled out and chilling in the freezer , simple dumplins mix biscuet doe and roll out thin . once the berries are boiling slice and drop dumpings into the pan turn down so you do not boil the dumplins to soup . Once they are swelled and are taking over the pan stir and make sure they are done all the way through and you are done . Same can be used for any fruit . This will be desert for BBQ country style pork ribs , green beans , mashed potattoes .

One of son 4s favorite foods is blackberry muffins made with cream cheese. Blackberry anything is a great treat when you haven't had the fresh since last year :)!

Most of the wild black berrys are still red a few are ripe , all of our tame black berrys are still red and not near ripe yet .

Them wild suckers always tend to get riper faster than the 'tame' ones and the early wild ones tend to be small at least around here.
