alot of his stuff are common sense, but its all very useful and though common, wouldn't have thought about it ourselves.

Yes, it is all common sense, but I still packed one for my little girl, she is strong and I've taught her well, but still, she may forget something in a crisis and it doesn't hurt to have one. I still have a old copy of the Soldiers Common field skills book, it is full of stuff and a condensed version of a survival guide in my bag. Reading helps me keep focused, your brain is focusing on the material and not how bad it really is. lol, Myrrph, I do some of my best contemplating with a book and the toilet (I know way to much info there, but it does help focus). Two things I learned from operations using the old 130 to Africa, bring a book and bring a small 4 dollar pillow. Book serves as good reading, as I said calms me down, and also causes my eye lids to fall below the horizon. Hence second valuable tool a pillow, I was always refreshed. My commander told me that in his years of military, I was the only guy who could stretch out on a hard cargo deck and snore from A point to B point. I use to remind him that I wasn't the one dragging when we got into the third day of "no sleep". Also, I can tell you when on FEX or in the SWA how valuable books can be as a reliable source of T.P. Note: Always use the first pages, so you don't ruin the ending of your book. Take care Myrrph

and what's more fun than building this type or any type of shelter together with your kids, they have fun and learn at the same time, basically not knowing their learning, and you have fun watching the kids
