thats one messed up situation..not only when it comes to the tree.but everything else as well..
 
CA in the US and Central and Southern Europe are taking a real hammering, yet so far around here its staying between 9 and 13 Celcuis
 
That is a shame about the tree. I do wonder if man had left it alone back in the 1800s would it have been able to withstand the storms for another century? I remember seeing pictures of it when my parents drove to for a visit years ago. Always looked like it would have been an interesting place.
 
Didn't visit that tree as far as I recall, but we did drive through the Wawona Tree in Yosemite. It fell in 1968.
