Look behind you in that dark corner.
In a 2-gallon pot, simmer 1 cup of beef or pork chunks, catfish works too, I've never tried it with chicken. Simmer until completely cooked, remove any bones, and add:
three cups of cabbage, shredded.
1/2 cup of onion OR 2 cloves of garlic.
4 large potatoes, cut into chunks.
2 chili peppers cut fine or minced.
Serve up with cornbread.

Variation (S)
This one uses only red ingredients+ rice and baby shrimp. Its red tide stew/Alabama football soup.

Using the leftovers, add corn and carrots. veggie soup!

cant stand cabbage.
Did you eat cabbage growing up? For some it is not something they are used to eating. Also, it is in the cruciferous vegetable family. This group of vegetables can be a little more difficult to digest as we get older. It can cause gas. I'd be willing to bet that when it comes to vegetables that this is one group that is more disliked than most other vegetables.

Cruciferous veggies are a diverse group that includes broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, bok choy, arugula, Brussels sprouts, collards, watercress and radishes.

Cabbage and cheese is heavenly.
Simple recipe, quarter up a head of cabbage.
boil until done.
drain.
add cheese.
Occasionally I'll add a bit of onion or potatoes.
