Hi guys, I found this video on You tube, its about caching guns, I thought you may enjoy watching it, the man has buried a 22 rifle, mag, ammo and cleaning kit over a year ago, and he digs it up to see how it got on.

seems to be a fairly dry enviroment, sandy soil with good drainage, which helps a lot
None of what I'd be dealing with...rocks, roots, clay, water. I think I'd try vacuum packing the innermost layer using a heavy duty FoodSaver GameSaver roll. Maybe even double pack it. And I'd seriously consider using a PVC pipe with end caps as the outermost layer.

trouble with caching in the UK, if its not on someone own land there is no control over what happens to it, could come back and find a new house built on top of it. alright if you just cache stuff you can afford to lose but a rifle?
