I traded a.couple messages with him a little while back. He's doing fine. Just dealing with the ongoing regular health stuff
That's a geezer thing. Well, one of the geezer things. Like getting depressed when you finally accept the fact that you're never going to get horny again.

One of my friends-with-a-good-paying-job bought a new Chevelle 396 coupe -an early one - and insisted that I take it for a spin. (probably because he knew I wasn't a speed/power nut. (A nut of a different sort, yeah.) I didn't push it at all (yeah, probably fear, I don't remember). 4-speed tranny. I got the car rolling at about 25mph and shifted into 3rd gear. The engine was idling; and it still had torque! I expected it to stall when I gave it a little gas. It accelerated smoothly. I was still smiling when I told the guy about it. He said "Y'know Bob, that's a 'test' I never would have tried."

Hah.

It doesn't get much better than an early Chevelle...

My wife had a '69 Chevelle when we got married. We ran the wheels off of that thing. I wish I had known more about cars back then. I would have taken better care of it. How did we know it would be a classic?

When I was a kid my folks had a '69 Chevelle station wagon!! Awesome!!

Not sure where to put this, so I'll put it here... it's a shot of a plate I've never seen before. I'm kicking myself for not taking a shot of the nice Jeep which displayed the plate, it was a cool ride. But the plate itself is a thing of beauty... I'm not sure how many mountain lions actually dwell in Nebraska, but I suppose there are a few of those critters over there.

Somehow this reminds me of driving through Nebraska one time, and hearing one truck driver tell another that he would pass as soon as he "got past the hill." Another driver keyed his CB mike and hollered, "WHAT'S THE 20 ON THE HILL IN NEBRASKA?!?" Lol... that was pretty funny, there was always some smart@$$ making comments like that. 😒

I'm a long time western Iowan. Rarely do I hear of mountain lions in Nebraska.

Right... I'm beginning to think that the plate is one of those available nationwide, lumped into the category of "fund-raising plates." The background scenery is obviously NOT Nebraska, I've driven through every part and corner of that state and never saw anything like what's on the plate, 10-4?

Did I never post this shot? Guess I forgot the other day...

Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!!
When I owned my chevelle, black with white original, I was working in a custom van shop. I made custom interior sunroof. 60s in the rear. 3 speed on the floor if I remember correctly.
Was in a bar one night and a really nice motorcycle showed up. I traded. Sure was nice to have no obligations n just do whatever whenever.
You have a nice ride.

I don't own that Chevelle, it was sitting in the parking lot near the Show Low (AZ) skatepark. I wish I DID own it, it would sure be more fun to drive that rig than my 20-year-old Camry, lol. ;)

I hear ya on the bartering scene, old school trade was a good thing before all these idiotic rules & regulations.

Saw this Mach 1 Mustang on the way home, and since I was feeling pretty good about life, I turned around and drove back to get some pics of the car, lol. Not a bad ride! Wasn't 'Elizabeth' in the original 'GONE IN 60 SECONDS' also a Mach 1? Might have been a different year, but this one looked pretty sweet! You hardcore Mustang fans enjoy the pics!

I'm pretty sure I could get in trouble with the local speed cops if I owned this rig, lol... might even have some additional charges tossed in for good measure: Exhibition of Speed, Reckless Driving, Getting Sideways in Public, etc. ;)

P.S. Whaddya suppose this color is called? It's not blue enough for turquoise... aquamarine, maybe? Teal? :dunno:
