Aren't there small square radiators hanging off each side of the block...!?

What is it,air cooled??? I don't see a radiator o_O:confused:
It does look funny.
I would think it's an "eye-candy" poser", however.... the smut behind the exhaust and over the tires tells a completely different story:eek:.

@threetango: Having studied Bill Jenkins work with the SBC in great depth, I can tell you that he wouldn't have gone MOPAR if it didn't have an edge.
He was a very smart guy, far ahead of his time.
Thanks for the post. I never knew he 'strayed' from the Bow-tie:cry:.

Excuse the poor-quality pics, but I thought enough of his work to throw his book on the scanner, decades ago :great:.

Yep, used to love watching Grumpy, the Snake , and the Mongoose tear up the asphalt.

Back in the late 70s there was a guy that had 2 Ford Pintos and another guy with a Chevy Vega that were souped up. I'm not sure what kind of V8 was in the Vega but the guy with the Pintos had a 302 Boss in 1 and a 351 Cleveland in the other and both were souped up. I was in McDonalds 1 time and he came through in 1 of them, not sure which engine he had in that 1,but the whole car rocked back and forth with the lope of the engine at idle. I'd loved to have rode in 1 of them.

Ok, I got it. This is a random memory test.

How 'bout something fresh?
Ever wonder why Richard Petty always had that ****-eating grin on his face?
Wouldn't you?:D...

Now I take one look at that and all I can think of is kneeling, and slowly unlacing those boots looking at that butt:great:.
I know, I'm a dirty old man. I should be spanked.:assspank:

...or maybe punished:D.

Now that brings back memories:cool:.
Raced against many a '55 Chevy back in the day. This was before they became popular.
They were 'mama's old car' handed down to teenage sons.
If they could lay their hands on a 327 block, you better be on your game!
They were heavy but plenty of weight on the rear wheels (I've probably mentioned that about 10 times) and a low ratio rear axle.
With a Powerglide tranny and some meat on the back wheels, those things could really jump. They'd wind them up and yank the trans in gear, the wheels couldn't spin, you couldn't kill the tranny, and all of that torque had to go somewhere.

You look at that pic and think: There's no way that thing could be fast with a smallblock.

...and that would cost you $100:eek:.
(a lot of money in 1974)

Like this blue & white one except imagine in the pitch dark, on a 2-lane highway in the middle of nowhere, driven by teenagers:D.
We did that.
Watch it jump the red mustang:

And we lived:p.
