Ok, I PROMISE I will go on youtube, and seek some video instruction on this thing. The wife got me a CAT tourniquet for Christmas, and I have one question...

Is this thing reusable? It almost looks like there is some section that tears loose when I start turning it...

Do I HAVE to buy the orange practice one?

Any Combat Medics? Even a Northern European one would do lol.

lol my friend really was in the Marinejaegerkommando, I'm sure he could show me how to use it, he is visiting Norway at the moment.

Cheap ones to practice is a good idea. I would hate to break the one I want to keep just by being stupid and clueless, which is normally how I break things.

so you do things like I do,skip that little book of the "little spanish boy called manual"....

that marinejaeger tourniquet is even more easy to use..

carry that one with me..

Manual? I may have glanced at it. In real use, it would likely be covered in blood and discarded. The Military buys lots of stuff, I doubt they are so thrifty as to reuse tourniquets. I will have to make do with what I have.

Yes they are reusable, no you don't need the orange one. I have both the CAT and Swat-T tourniquet in all my first-aid packs

TQs are the last line don't use unless you have no choice, be sure to mark the time the TQ was applied either on the forehead or the TQ itself

Thanks Maverick, I will include a slot for a magic marker in the pouch I am making for the tourniquet. I also have a SWAT-T, which I like because the instructions are written on it :)

I was told to get: AR 15, 3 mags, 9mm pistol, 3 mags, Body Armor, tourniquets, clotting agent, gauze pads, and shears. Then some odds and ends. Once I have all this stuff, I get to find the time to get some professional training, free of charge. I'm down to the body armor/chest rig, and time.
