It is a bird of no consequence and found in south Texas.
Apparently tasty but also very noisy.
I am certain I just heard gunfire and assume there’s hunting going on. I don’t remember the seasons for any of it unless I look it up. Saw the chachalaca was listed. That’s why I’m asking. Anyone here ever eaten or hunted them?

They travel in small groups. Eat bugs and fruits.
