This piece of garbage was originally sentenced to death. But the wonderful people of California decided that what he did wasn't bad enough to die for. They figured the tax payers should pay to keep him locked up for life.

I think he was convicted in 1969,,,the death penalty was done away with in 1972,and this POS slipped thru the cracks,,,it was the appeals system that saved his ass there are people on death row that have been there for decades because of this

the system is flawed and the thugs take advantage of it

He was sentenced in 71 than the following year the death penalty was deemed unconstitutional in 72 but was reinstated in 78... if he was already sentenced to death in 71 why didn’t the reinstate the death sentence in 78. It’s ******** the families never gotten justice.

Manson should have suffered the punishment of verberatio every g’damn day, he shouldn’t have gone a day without sufferance thus verberatio would have been sufficient and fitting!

It's interesting, because he, personally, didn't kill anyone.

His followers did. Not sure how many are really aware of that. Of course, no argument he pretty much got what he deserved for inciting them to do so...but still, a conveniently forgotten point.

He was so nutty, it is hard to believe that he could convince a bunch of kids to do what they did. I could barley follow his conversations.

It's hard to imagine....I suppose he was more convincing when they were all high as a kite....??? LOL
