we have a corner bait, beer and gas quick stop. They used to serve chicken on a stick which was a a fairly long chicken part on a stick. We also hunt a lot of gophers (prairie dogs) in the spring. Those pesky burrowing critters that leave holes for stock to step in an break a leg.
Anyway I always like to refer to the chicken on a stick as fresh fried prairie dog. Good for a few looks and the out of staters get some strange expressions.

You hate me then. . . Last night I skillet fried chicken and then made a gravy. Yeah, Smothered Chicken and it was SO GOOD with mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans.
