Good for that dad!!! Next year he could say his daughter is sick on Veterans Day...sick of Veterans Day not being recognized by the school enough to have the day off like on MLK Day...just leave off the last part in the note. Sick days aren't unexcused days are they? At least they weren't when our kids were in school.
