Excerpt: "The deputy noticed that the elderly male behind the wheel appeared to be having a medical event as the truck ping-ponged between the barriers on the bridge crossing the Wateree River into Camden.
As the truck slowed, the officer jumped out of his car and tried to catch up to it, but couldn’t and got back into his car to continue following it as other patrol cars joined him, including one from the local Camden police department that was struck by the pickup.
When the truck slowed down again, the officer gave it another try and managed to get in through the passenger door and bring the truck to a stop."

Courageous deputy. I wish the news would tell more good hearted stories like these about officers. I hear way too many about officers getting shot or the " had apples" in the group.

Once the media figures out the people really do like and do read feel good stories, maybe, just maybe they will start to publish more good cop stories. I get so tired of "cop Shot guy holding cell phone", I can show you pictures of firearms that look like cell phones. What part of stop - do not move, do these idiots not understand? okay, rant over. I like the feel good stories about good cops and honest kids. JM2C
