So our homeowners is coming up for renewal, DOUBLE what it was. Myself and my agent got 16 other quotes, my original insurance was by far the cheapest!! Auto insurance is going down the same path! The reason: inflation and FEDERAL FEES!! I have been talking to a lot of others about this, everyone is having the same shock!! What are y'all experiencing??

We pay $1200 a year for 3 vehicles and $2100 for homeowners insurance. We get some money back every year for not having claims. I'd skip the homeowners insurance, except we get major forest fires here. A couple years ago a fire burned to within a half mile of our property. It's too risky to not have coverage.

I just got a notice on our Mortgage that showed escrow. Our home owners went from 1000 to 1500. I'm getting ready to find a new carrier. Car insurance is almost $2000 a year for 3 cars and a camper. Gonna shop it out as well. We've been with our carrier for a long time

I almost hate to admit it, but I already HAVE skipped the homeowner's insurance, even though I used to get a fair rate through USAA. It's just that I only have so much money in my budget, prices are up on everything, and hard choices have to be made. Hell, I'm considering dropping my Internet service and just carting my laptop to the library once or twice a week, but then fuel costs would be a factor, not to mention wear & tear on the 21-year-old Camry. If I could legally do so, I'd drop the auto insurance as well, and just rely upon my training as a truck driver to keep myself outta trouble. It's not like I drive that much anymore anyway, I really only use the car for shopping runs, since I'm trying to extend its life. Meh, not all of us can be independently wealthy, lol... and I'm known for stretching a dollar clear to Bangor, Maine. So in a way, it's just another challenge to make ends meet in this f/u Biden Economy... a serious challenge, lol.

I tried to get insurance on a new $14,650.00 ATV last week, this is a non-road legal vehicle. No one would issue insurance, because I don't have a current driver's license. I explained over & over it is strictly for homestead/farm use.

We were paying 412$ (6 months) for four vehicles, will be near 1000$ next renewal. Wait and see when you have to renew!
I have to drink 3 beers before reading my insurance renewal notice.
4 vehicles for $412 every 6 months, my 'legal-minimum' coverage on just my pickup is more than that.
They are very strict down here, if you let your coverage lapse, the police will come to take your license plate.

Vehicle insurance here is $1200 a year for each vehicle, and that is after a whole mess of discounts. I don't know about house insurance. We couldn't get it because the bridge and 5 km of road washed out 3 years ago. The place will be burnt to the ground before anyone can get here, so we don't qualify.

We have to be very careful about things because it's all over if the place goes up in smoke.

Although I hate paying the rates, I won't get rid of insurance.
I just pulled up my homeowners policy. The rate I'm paying is 1/5 of a penny per $1000 of value. I'm not putting my home at risk for such a small fraction of its value.
For all my vehicles and properties, I pay $4800 per year.

BTW - I caught on the news today that State Farm is not accepting new policies in California. Just too much risk for them.

I am grateful that my home is paid off. My homeowner's insurance also took a big jump this year. Between homeowner's insurance and taxes, those bills alone are almost what my mortgage payment was a few years ago. Scary time! Renters are wondering why rents are so high? This is why. Owner has a loan to pay, taxes and homeowner's insurance.

... If I could legally do so, I'd drop the auto insurance as well, and just rely upon my training as a truck driver to keep myself outta trouble.…
Youngest was T-boned at an intersection by a teenager. Four vehicles were totaled along with two more damaged by flying debris. Teenager’s insurance should pay for all the vehicles, correct? Wrong! Total damage exceeded the maximum coverage the teenager was insured for. Fortunately our youngest had “under insured” coverage and was covered.

You can be the best driver in the world but you’ll still need coverage for the idiots behind the wheel.

Homeowners insurance in Florida has always been very high because of hurricanes.
And not many companies will even write a policy for a mobile home.
Ours went from $400+ to $1,000 this year.
Our agent couldn’t find anything better, but a friend’s wife is an agent. She got us a better policy for $800.

I have no idea what the insurance is on the trucks, the wife takes care of that. USAA is the insurance on the vehicles, but they do not insure mobile homes.

Ditto.
Anybody that whines about how high their homeowner's policy is, tell them to try living down here where 'spinny-things' visit .

I get a discount for having house and vehicle insurance with the same company.

I get a discount for having dead bolt lock on the house entry doors.

I get a discount for haing a house alarm system.

Think I have discounts for everything they offer.

$1,000 annually for the house and $1,300 annually for three vehicles. The car and truck I bought used and are only a few years old. Figure they will last me 20 years and by that time the kids will take my driver's license and keys away from me.
