administrators developed a "safety plan" to ensure the welfare of Cruz and others while he was on summer vacation. The plan included provisions for removing "all sharp objects from the home"

Unbelievable. How the hell did they let him buy a gun?

now, this is something the conspiracy dudes will love...it's like a dark plan;let's "ignore" this maniac,we let him do his things and we can set our plans in motion.
honestly, you don't know what to say.

this boy has been on the radar since 2014,and authority's did nothing,,,,,

Oh, they did SOMETHING alright... My bet is that they supplied him, and even triggered him to do it.

Why do you think he referred to himself as a "professional school shooter"?

Well, funny thing is, sometimes the conspiracy dudes are RIGHT.....

Hey, we're almost halfway thru March, and still no other mass shooting event all over the news. Can I be wrong for this month? PLEASE?

It's kind of a slippery slope thing. We can't lock people up for having sick thoughts, but it is obvious this guy shouldn't have been able to purchase a firearm. Do we create a "crazy" database and block everyone from buying a gun that goes to see a shrink? Do we let the phycologist decide who can purchase a firearm? Do we require a physc test prior to a gun purchase? Most crazy people can act as sane as the rest of us and pass any physiological test. I don't know what the answer is, or if there even is an answer that won't violate our Second Amendment rights.

That's just it though, and NONE of the proposed gun laws address the specifics you mention. THAT is the problem so many pro-gun folks have with them. It isn't that we want crazy folks to have guns...but we also don't want a guy who once saw a grief counselor after his wife died in a mugging, to then not be able to arm himself.

AD,

I agree that it can be a dangerous slope. The GOOD news is that we don't need 1 more letter in the law. This nutjob violated a number of laws HAD THEY BEEN ENFORCED that would have prevented him from owning a weapon. The issue once more isn't more laws, it's not letting liberals ignore existing laws.

and they want to create new gun control laws,,,hell they don't enforce the ones we already have
chances are new laws will be ignored also,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it's real easy to turn a blind eye towards a problem instead of doing something about it

MENTAL ILLNESS IS THE PROBLEM,,,,,,,,WE CAN'T KEEP IGNORING IT

agreed. People with mental illnesses are almost ALWAYS the ones doing these mass shootings. We need to make stricter gun control laws to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill.

The gun laws are fine. It’s the idiots in charge of those laws that are screwing it up for the rest of us. It’s illegal for the mentally ill to own or purchase a fire arm. It’s illegal to use a firearm to kill innocent people. It’s illegal to sell a gun without a federal background check. It’s the idiots in charge that messed this up by failing to act by failing to report by failing to protect us and our kids thinking a sign will stop bad guys. Maybe we should protect all senators and politicians that way. Just put a car in front of Bush, Obama, and Trump “The president is a projectile free body all bullets must stay outside” SMH

It's funny that all these students are marching around for more gun laws, when what they should be protesting, is why the hell the FBI was repeatedly warned about this kid and what he would do, specifically, and did NOTHING. This could have been stopped way before it happened.
