Working in a building by myself allows me to do this as long as I can do it with a crock pot. I come in in the morning and put the meat o the day in there.

I normally grab the manager gotta sell it now meats. I have cooked pot roast, short ribs, spare ribs etc. Today I cooked a $12 pork roast that I got on manager markdown for $6.

What do you do for lunch? Yes I have heated up andoulie sausage on a manifold too.

I generally don't eat lunch. Seems like one more meal than I need a day. But we have 2 full kitchens in my building and both the Chief and I have a kitchenette in our offices, so a lot of cooking happens at work. But before I traded bars for stars I actually organized a group buy of a gas grill to keep in the cold-weather garage bays. Many times I grilled up a few dozen hamburgers or several dozen hot dogs for a hungry crew of dry by eaters. It's amazing how good a cheap Bar-S hot dog tastes off a grill when you are used to cold sandwiches or fast food. The fanciest thing I ever made at work however was a smoked porked loin using that same grill and tin foil bundles of apple chips.

Does making coffee count as cooking?

When I was working, I had a dorm sized fridge, a microwave, a coffee pot and a popcorn maker at work. Coffee was a regular, tea and other foods cooked in the microwave. I used the microwave to heat up soup and other foods. I kept a stash of canned soup and from time to time, oatmeal. I had a stash of kitchen utensils--can opener, tableware, mugs, bowls, basic stuff.

Fridge usually had hard boiled eggs, string cheese, salad makings, and cream or half and half for coffee.

We have a stove, couple fridges, 3 microwaves in our lunch room. Last Friday of each month we have breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy. Most of the techs come by for it.
Once or twice a month we have a couple crockpots of pinto beans cookin.
Day to day I heat up left overs in the nuc wave. Every now and then I fix something on the stove. I keep several cans of soup, beans, tuna, chicken, pineapple, etc. Along with Peanut butter and a box of crackers.

I rarely cooked at work except to reheat something in the microwave. If I wanted to cook at work now I would use an Air Fryer. They are the best for reheating or cooking something fast. We have 2 at home now.
We did occasionally have pot luck lunches and people would bring in their crockpots. One that surprised me was baked potatoes in a crockpot. Wrapped in foil and piled in the crockpot for a few hours. Turned out great.

I always would cook at work. Mostly for the menu for the kids, but if I was having a 12 hr day, I would bring in stuff for our dinner, and cook it there. Bring it home hot, and we'd have dinner. We'd have a staff potluck now and again, too. Had a full commercial kitchen with a huge oven.

We don't cook at work. Occasionally we heat (microwave) when required. Most of the time we have something cold that requires no preparation.

Leftover pork roast from yesterday and andouli sausage in the crock pot today. I do cheat and use the crock pot liners.
