I work on things all the time. I'm not complaining at all, I just absorbe myself into tasks. I somehow get contentment out of accomplishing things. Everybody has something that makes them tick, I'm just lucky mine is something productive. Anyways, the point of this thread is remind all to slow down and celebrate the things you've done, or the good things that happen in your lives. I've mentioned in other threads that my son and I have started a business this year. I'm mostly helping my son get a solid start in running his own company, but am an equal partner and am invested as well. Well, we started Jan 1st of this year. I expected it to be a really slow month, with being new and the middle of winter and all. Well, we've done much better than I had ever expected. It will be a long time before we pay back the initial investments, but like I said, we did a pretty good month. So tonight I brought home 4 pizzas, a pile of wings, cheese sticks, nacho Doritos (one of my rare guilty treats), and of course allready have an unlimited supply of muscadine wine. I don't know how well the next year will turn out, but I do know that life is short, so I'll never regret celebrating tonight. I hope to inspire everyone here to always be greatful for what you have and enjoy it with those you love. I'd love to hear what you've all had in your lives that was positive and worth celebrating.

Very cool, Brent. Great thoughts.
Today was a terrific day for me too. We are visiting my wife's parents in south Florida for a couple of weeks like we usually do every year. Last year my 3 daughters were finally big enough to get out in the ocean and into the waves & surf. Was great being able to swim with them. Fast forward to this year. Went out yesterday with my girls and bought dive masks & snorkels for all of them. Today we got out into the Atlantic and learned how to use them (I've been diving & snorkeling since I was a kid) and enjoy seeing UNDER the water! I, of course, was very proud. Like you, I won't ever regret spending the money.
I am so glad to be able to visit places like this and share the time with my girls before they are grown-up and gone. I expect that'll happen much too soon.

I've been diving most of my life as well, and got the kids certified too. The keys were my favorite place to dive with 30' crystal clear warm water and loads of tropical fish to look at. It's a whole other world down there. I grew up poor, so didn't do things with the family much as a kid. I've tried to show my kids as much as I could about the wonders and beauty in the world.

I love celebrating the end of a project. If one where everyone pitched in, typically, it involves us all going out to dinner, or at least having a nice steak dinner at home. Congrats on the businesses Brent!

as I'm doing my practicum at the childrens ER,it makes me very happy indeed if I can make the pain go away, give them that feeling ;somebody cares.
like today when I got a phone call where they asked who soon could you come and give some blood, they needed it to make a transfusion to a baby still unborn, naturally I went.
love to hear that all my boys are doing fine and that I can today allow me some tortilla chips (to celebrate 19 lost pounds ;) )

19 lbs if friggin awesome! Ten is easy, anything beyond that takes dedication.

think it's 'cause we're planning to take part in a 16 miles march with my class mate with a small back pack of 25 pounds..training for that with small walks around my place helps :)
and yes, those chips wasn't good in keeping extra pounds away, got 1 back in a heart beat ;)

I've taken off 50 pounds now still going strong, keep at it, a tortilla to celebrate now and then is fine.
