The run-up to Christmas- for me anyway- is a time of contemplation. It begins with memories of Christmas, leading to when my husband was in a band and spent the holidays gigging; then the children growing up etc, people we lost along the way, and ends up with an overall assessment of the year.
It wasn't as bad as we thought it might be- my husband survived another year being self-employed, we paid off the house, and had a lovely summer with family home from the USA & Australia that we hadn't seen in years. I'm a year out of work, (own choice) yet the bank account is still as it always is, lingering on empty, but the larder is full. Makes me wonder why I bothered stressing myself out so much!
I nearly have my degree, and the children are all happy and healthy, my son who had an accident two years ago is happy in his job and his hand is almost normal.
A good year in the garden as well, grew plenty and as always, extended it a bit more. To sum it all up, not a bad year at all.
