I am certainly no Joe Pro, but to me…

Heat resistant: Can withstand some heat before it catches fire. Behind it can get hot and catch fire also.

Heat reflective: Will reflect any heat back towards where it came. Product may or may not get hot, but behind it should stay cool

Heat Barrier: Product may or may not get hot, but behind it will not get hot. It ill not transmit heat to the other side.

I have bought this and was told it is not right product for the project.

Just want to wrap some money for long-term storage.
Are you casting the container out of asbestos cement? 8" of this ought to protect it for several hours in an average fire, I'm not sure about anything above 2500 degrees.

Thermodynamics is rhe area of physics that Einstein predicted will pass the test of time.

The zeroeth law basically says that any time two things are in contact they will eventually assume the same temperature.

So wrapping paper money in anything will not prevent it from heating up to the surrounding temperature eventually.

Wrapping the money with an insulator can slow down how long it takes for the heat energy to raise the temperature of the money. A vacuum bottle (thermos) is a very effective insulator because heat energy can only be radiated since there is nothing to conduct or convect the heat energy. The tiles used on the space shuttle are good because they are mostly air.

So...

Stuff the money in a thermos and add oxygen absorbers. Even if the money heats up there is no oxygen for it to burn.

Alternatively it is possible to boil water in a paper cup...

It depends on how long and how high the heat is present.

Ben
The other potential problem would be getting more than a few thousand dollars in a vacuum bottle.
