It's happening rather more frequent now, I remember back in 2007 when we had the first of the recent spate of floods. I lived in East Yorkshire, if you check on any of the many sites that show flood maps, you will see that that area would be severely flooded due to it being such a flat area.
How well are you prepared for flooding if it hits you?

I Don't think I would be around to find out. I guess if a tsunami hit, it that might create a problem. THANKS A LOT yet another thing to prep for. lol appreciate the eye opener.

4th para, where I used to live. The guy was clearing a small storm drain that had got clogged up with debris. The rescue services tried ALL DAY to free him but the water level rose above him and he died of hypothermia. They even considered amputation, his foot was stuck (The report was wrong, it was NOT a manhole).

Sorry Mate but Ellis closed in 1954.
However in todays paper there is an article about flooding in Tewkesbury. More bad news..More rain is in the forcast.

Where we live, it wont be that bad as it has to get above 60m before it's anywhere neat us...

we're some where around 330 feet above sea level..so i don't think we have any thing to worry about polar ice caps melting..but then there's the rain.if we do get more then whats needed.yes we'll see flooding..streets field etc etc will flood if we get way to much

Luckily, I'm not near any kind of real water mass, and even the worst tropical rains seem to soak into the ground here, so I'm pretty safe from that threat. I'm actually building up a stockpile of sandbags though for other reasons, so if it came to it, I'd certainly be using them to barricade. They are remarkably effective.

we're 300 ft above sea level here in hill country, any water tends to run off downhill, the fields get wet and soggy but don't actually flood, we're on the highest point of the area so lots of people will get flooded long before we do-we'll be able to tell by the screams of the sheeple!!!

just thought..there's a creek in each direction when we leave home.and both are in low sitting areas.so if thier flooded above the banks and those sections of roads is flooded..then we're traped if we can't travel across country..i deffintly need a 4 wheel drive vehicale...

we used to live in Glastonbury and used to use the East Lyng road very regularly, that is now under water, I guess Glastonbury is now an island again.
