Another map to instigate debate among you fine people. How accurate do you feel this is or isn't? The areas I am familiar with seem to be reasonably represented. That is presuming we consider all major cities to be void of culture, humanity and common sense.

Zones I have lived 2,8,10 Lookie pretty accurate.

Zone 31 should be all the way up the coast all the way to the boarder
Zone 30 should run from the boarder to Zone 32.

Deffo agree with This.. But only the 'crust' - Only Inland maybe 1 County-deep (Depends on Which - won't be a 'smooth line', etc)

Zone 30 should run from the boarder to Zone 32.

Mmm, again, I see it being more like a '1 County-thick Crust'.. ie: Orange County is actually Quite Conservative (by-comparison..) and "NorCal" should Definitely Not include ANY of SF-Bay area / Most of the 'Libby-Counties around it', and there should be a 'bubble' around Excremento-area (Zommie-blued) and a 'Red-Stripe' running thru Much of Central Cal, down to include some of the more Conservative E. SoCal counties, ie: Riverside, et al..)

And #MeToo, in past, as to Zone 2, there.. 👍 Now, most of it West of the 'Death Star' (Albany) has become highly Libtarded / Zommified (ie: Rottenchester, Buffoonlo, etc.. (though Many of the Southern Counties are still holding ground, 'sanity-wise'.. I'm sure @bkt can more accurately speak to that Area..)

I am a western man. The burning deserts of the southwest, the magnificent Rockies, the escarpments of the High Sierra, and vast emptiness of the Great Basin. That's my land. The rivers and canyons, and mountains touching the sky. You can have the cities and the flatlands.

Here's an interesting "cultural" map I found.

New Netherlands makes a lot of sense for around here. The houses were Dutch Colonial, everything is named a Dutch name starting with Van, Avon, Der or a Lenape name. Even New York City was known as New Amsterdam before the British took over.

I always find these fascinating. I’ve lived in 32/El Norte, 1/Yankeedom, and currently reside in 26/the Far West.

I think culturally, Colorado has a lot in common with the California of my youth — though I have been told that “it’s not like how it used to be”. Which makes sense; there are a lot more people in both places now, even without any of the political and cultural shifts.

Colorado definitely has its own unique sense of humor, quite different from the West Coast, and most easily described as “if South Park is an 11, Colorado in general is a 2-3”.

I actually loved New England as well, aside from the long winters. I just couldn’t get enough Vitamin D — or perhaps it was more that I was a college student and ill-equipped for the weather, so I didn’t get enough sunlight. I don’t have that problem in Colorado. There’s more sun here, the snow melts throughout the winter, and I have better winter clothes.

Would I move back to New England again? There are days I’d consider it, but it’d have to be exactly the right spot. Vermont, maybe? Not Massachusetts again, given the odds and ends I hear coming out of there.

SoCal? Eeeeeh. I miss my family, and I sure wouldn’t mind it from a gardening perspective (avocados and citrus without a greenhouse), but I sure don’t miss the traffic or the politics or the way my old neighborhood slid downhill in what felt like six months …

For now, Colorado’s a great fit. ^_^

Even moving to Texas I'll still be in zone 27. Lived in most of the zones, some briefly. Yeah you can keep the cities and big lights and all the other crap that goes with them. It would be nice to look up and see the galactic bulge again, the spiral arms and the stars of the heavens. Getting serenaded by the coyotes would be ok too.
