My APC surge arrest bit the dust
So , like the good steward of the earth that I am, I am tearing it apart for useful components

I have a phone line surge protection unit
That was part of the system, I snipped the wire and lifted it out, installed a male end on the wire

I have no idea what a phone line surge protector cost is these days but I am willing to bet it is not cheap

Can you elaborate on your APC UPS biting the dust?
I have an older one that's been laying around. Battery was dead so I replaced it. When I fire the UPS up running off battery, I get a constant beep denoting bad battery. Tried 3 different, known good batteries and get the same result. Is the APC UPS just too old and tired to work anymore?

Not sure but I suspect the last power outage popped the fuse
The fuse is located under the circuit board and I did not see it till I had already cut the wires loose

After removing the board I rewired it to be a 8 way outlet box
