Anyone ever freeze strawberries?

We would like to avoid, if possible, laying the strawberries out on a cookie sheet, freezing, then bagging.

Anyone have any shortcuts?

You can just put them in freezer bags or use a vacuum sealer. I would just put maybe 2 cups per bag since that would be a common amount for recipes since you are not wanting to freeze individually first. If you are wanting to make up jam with all I would freeze all together. I guess the amount per bag would be determined what your plans are with them.

The vacuum sealer doesn't squish them? I was leaning that way, but didn't want squished fruit and a big messy squirt of juice all over, lol. I thought someone here must have tried it already.
