I had a "Gray Man" failure. Totally on me.

I was appointed to a local Board. Board was in the process of updating their Employee Handbook. One change of the Handbook I objected to, no weapons were allowed on the property.

I pointed out the change was in violation of the United States Constitution "shall not be infringed" and State Law. Adoption of the handbook was tabled. Before the next board meeting the Board Chairman asked a friend, a retired County Sheriff, his opinion.

A year later I was invited to a political meet and great meeting. The Host had us go around introducing ourselves. Guess who I was sitting beside? The retired County Sheriff. After the introductions the former County sheriff turned to me and said, "So you are the Constitutionalist!"

So much for me trying to keep a low profile.

I would hope that I'd say, "I took an oath to defend the Constitution, how about you?"

If I’m not mistaken the sherif took an oath to follow and protect the constitution did he not?
