It’s like this on numerous other forums. Quite a few people post once and then fade into cyber-oblivion forever.

I try to greet as many as I can. Maybe they'll be more likely to stick around if they feel welcome.

On many forums it can be as few as under 1% of new member make more than a couple of posts. I think because some forums often keep their boards and sub forums private until people actually join . And those who join are either only mildly curious or seeking and answer to one question. Then there is the trolls.

Sometimes it’s fun to play with trolls for a brief time, but eventually you have to use cyber-laxative to clean the **** out of Internet forums.
