Ham radio vs satellite phone

Howdy looking into one of either ham radio or satellite phone. Not sure which way to go. Any suggestions?

It depends on what's your need is? Sat phone you talk to someone you have the number for. Ham radio you can hear information from many people and places and also talk to them.

I would choose Ham.
