Kinda an expansion of the discussion from another thread, Hardware (Nuts/bolts/fasteners/wire/whatever)

Sometimes, an easy, quick fix eludes us do to the lack of the right bolt/nut/screw/ etc. What do you stock and how is it organized?

I am eclectic, I have carefully sorted bins/jars and cans", like this:

When I need nails I buy a 50# box. When I need other fasteners I usually buy a box of 100. It costs more in gas to pick them up than a box of fasteners. Everything is stored in its original box. then there is a box of odds and ends from disassembled items, leftovers, and garage sales junk boxes.

OK but remember you asked. ;)

This set of drawers store the smaller nuts bolts screws washer hardware.

You have more hardware than most hardware stores.
I am going to use a hot glue gun and stick a sample of each thing on the drawer. That way I can just look at the drawers and find what I need a little faster than opening multiple drawers. NO way I could ever remember what's where.

Legos get the same treatment and makes building much more fun for the granddaughters.

Keeping things sorted and stowed makes runs to the hardware store for most home projects rare. I can also tell others where to find what they need as well. My now departed father refered my shop ad his local hardware store.

Last comment... For now...

Buy 5 times what you think you will need and store the extra.

Just call me nub.

@dademoss , did you see the video I shared a while back about Southern Prepper1's hardware collection? He said it is his metal investment, instead of silver and gold.
I did, thank you. Mine is on a much smaller scale than others, my "workshop" is 10x10.
