Look behind you in that dark corner.
We have a strain of it here that the neighborhood has kept going for thirty+ years, they can grow to be almost a foot long, and if you wait until they are over 2" long, they are too tough to eat except the seeds, what have I got and can it be hybridized to be more tender?

Sounds like old time "Cow horn" to me.
I now use Clemson Spineless.
