Just getting into prepping. Been a long time watcher from afar, just always been too intimidated to undertake the challenges. With the state of the world, I figure it’s time to get my ducks in a row. Really looking forward to learning from all the knowledge available.

Welcome from the southeast. There is a lot of information here to have a look at and be sure to ask any questions you may have.

Welcome and congratulation s on wanting to start getting prepared. Nothing big may happen in our lifetime, but it's peace of mind just knowing you have a backup if the need arises. I love the fact that im not running to the grocery store just because I run out of a certain item in the kitchen. My stockroom is my own personal grocery store ;).

I’m with Danilgrl on this. Prepping isn’t about being ready for the end of the world. (Well, to some it is). To me it’s about gathering knowledge and resources to make your life easier through any unexpected surprises, like storms, job loss, natural or political turmoil, etc. I honestly prep more for minor things than I do for a SHTF scenario. I really like knowing that when the news predicts a ad ice storm is expected and I look around and realize I don’t have to run to the grocery or hardware store.

So true. You learn so much about the world and how to survive in it without all the creature comports.
