I'm currently in Arkansas. We moved from Florida,Alabama, Georgia and our home state of Texas. We have traveled a lot in the past 10 years but with this last move I wanted to be closer to family and in a state with lots of natural resources and not a ton of people. We are currently buying land as we can get the cash together to have rental properties for income so we can focus on building our dream "prepper" home on lots of wooded land with plenty of wildlife. My husband and I are "crazy" I guess but we believe in being prepared for whatever this world can throw at us. I have been a prepper since I was a kid.(use to bury my parents can goods in the backyard for someday) and always loved the outdoors. Met a man who feels the same way I do about being prepared. We have 5 kids ranging from 30 to 8 (I know big age differences) only 2 of the kids are preppers like us but we can't force them and it will be hard to leave them behind when the time comes. I currently prep at least a year's worth of supplies from the grocery stores but we also are prepping for when those supplies and resources are gone. We currently have 150 chickens and more on the way. Orders for rabbits and as soon as I can finish clearing some land and get a good grass growing I will have dairy goats again. Looking for a place large enough for my current animals and to add draft horses and cattle to the mix. We plan to bug in once we build but our current plan is to bug out to be with other like minded family members. We don't keep it a secret that we are preppers from our friends in hopes it will rub off and they will prepare but a lot of them always tell us they will just come here. I usually laugh and tell them to come on knowing we won't be here. While the current count of my household is 3 I prep for 10 people. I want to make sure that I have more than enough for us, some for those who take what they want no matter, and some for where we bug out to. So looking forward to reading everything from everyone and learning a lot more. Thanks for letting me be a part of the group.
