ALCON,
My name is Richard. I'm an American, living abroad. I'm ex-Army, and was volunteered for a tour in lovely exotic Iraq. I'm also a History major with a 3.7 GPA. No, that does not make me an expert, but it does allow me to share a few things with you guys.
Here's where I stand:
I don't know what's going to happen. I look at everything through a "History lens", and it seems that whenever there was a recipe for disaster, the ingredients always seemed to be similar.
Just before every revolution, there was an arrogant government and money problems.
Just before both world wars, there was a lot of preparation on behalf of the initiating parties. There was also a polarization of politics, where those who normally rode the fence began to choose sides.
Today, the "civilized" world is mixing together all of these ingredients. If anyone suffers a total economic collapse, that could be the spark on the powder keg. Many economists say that the collapse of the US dollar is imminent.
That, of course, is just one of many theories in circulation at the moment. For me, well, I don't need any theories to be convinced that it's time to begin prepping.
All I need to see are various governments around the world, prepping. If they're prepping, then so will I. The contingency is not important, if you are adequately prepared for all of them.
Step 1 for me and my family, is getting the hell out of Germany, and as far away from people as physically possible.
