Hello from Northern Illinois

Hello! Thanks for letting me join. I have a family of 4 and live on 12 acres out in the boonies near Rockford Illinois.(far NW burbs of Chicago).

I grew up with a survivalist Army dad as well as an army Mom. I stayed naive to the workings of the world most of my adult life but having kids changed the way I view the future. Things have been feeling very “off” to me for awhile and I don’t want to get caught with my pants down (so to speak) in an emergent situation. I need to gain some knowledge that I can pass on to my children and prepare for the unthinkable.

Anyone in my area?
