So I have to admit, I am brand new to Prepping.
just over a year ago my family and I were driven out of Florida when Hurrican Irma destroyed everything we had.
We now live in Ohio and it has become very apparent to us that we need to prepare for emergencies as well as for any other events that could happen in the future.
I am not 100% sure as to what I need or where I need to start so right now I am doing a TON of research.
I joined this site in hopes that I can get ideas and meet others who are also preparing as we are.

Welcome from Fin,glad to have you among us and better late than ever.
just take baby steps and concentrate on the essentials like water, shelter, food and security.
and remember there are no stupid question :)

Welcome to the group from another Texan. I am near the Gulf a d have seen first hand what hurricanes can do. . . One totally wiped out my MIL beach cabin. There were a few things that we were able to scavenge for out of the sand, like granny potbelly stove and her gumbo pot she always used when we went down there. To see it is just surreal. . .

I truly am sorry that you are back g to start over basically from scratch. Your most important things to prepping, in this order is water, food and shelter. Start by putting away a three day supply, enough for everyone in your family. Then go for a week and just keep adding little by little. You don't ever want to put yourself in a financial bind while doing this. Start with things you know your family eats already. Don't waste your money o n cans of Chef Boyardee if you can't stand eatting the stuff. Rotate as you go. If you grow a small garden that would be great so that you can eat fresh veggies and fruits, saving the seeds to plant the next season.
