Hello I'm brand new to the forum. My name is Gunnar and live in the woods of southern New Jersey. I'm pretty new to prepping. I have half decent hunting/trapping skills. I just got my bag in the mail that I'm using for a bob/shtf bag. I'll probably be spending all my time in the prepping 101 section to learn what will be best and how to do it correctly.

Welcome Gunnar!! If you have any questions please feel free to ask!! You may PM me as well if your to shy to ask the group....

Thank you. Right now I just have a couple lists of stuff for my shtf bag so I'm slowly adding to it. Water purification and a fire kit is next for me

Welcome Gunnar...sorry been a bit detained with family circumstance. Please take time at looking at the other forums. We've all added interesting information that might also help you there in preparing. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I do have a nice piece of land that is my grandfathers that I have permission to use as a bug out location. It has plenty of wildlife for food and lots of water that I can use but will have to filter. It's about a 10-15 mile hike from my house.

Well the storm that hit New Jersey knocked out my power but luckily I just got 2 new flashlights, candles and batteries just for this reason. It's great to be prepared

After hearing about cotton balls and Vaseline I finally got around to trying it and I'm really surprised at how easy it is to start a fire with it. Although I used a lighter to light it I was able to get a big fire going.

Welcome and thanks for joining. I'm sure you'll find some good info, but I would imagine you have some experience to share too, being from the woods in NJ and all.

BTW, you could share with us your tip for using the interwebs without power!

I wish I did have a lot. I'm just good with navigating home without a compass and setting up camps so far. I'm only 26 and have a whole lot to learn. I'd really like to learn trapping with snares so that is next on my list. There are tons of squirrels and deer around so I'll bet set for food
